Whoa, whoa! Wait a minute, Jim. I never said I supported 'Andy in his extreme
views'! What I believe I've said is that I share in his concerns about our trying to
accomplish a goal when someone we believe should be supportive of it may be found on
the other side of the fight! I said I could understand why Andy got so worked up. We
wouldn't want to have a 'divided house' on this fight. We'd like very much to create
an united front for a common goal, but following a strategy which in our view would be
the most effective one based on over a century of experience and history.

Now to your question below.

 please answer this:

In their understanding (if I read them right) anti-metric means someone who would
fight metrication efforts based on legislative approaches. I don't necessarily share
in that... 'judgment'. However, I can't see that your position would be helpful to
expedite metrication in the US either!

So, I guess we'd all hope that you'd stay on the sidelines if that chance comes about.
But given that MY approach to a government mandate would certainly be a reasonable
one, I do have my hopes up that you would eventually choose to at least not oppose it!
 ;-)

I hope that answered your question.
