        Here are the equations for the particular choice of U = meter:

meter = 10 meters, meter = 100 meters, meter = 1000 meters; the last

one then written as meter = kilometer by application of the prefix kilo.

This is a logical (but unacceptable) consequence of a declaration that

multiples (and submultiples) of SI Units are themselves also "SI units";

unit meaning one (1) of an entity (quantity); neither more nor less, the

quantity being length in the above illustration.  Can the "unit of length"

be both "meter" and "kilometer" all at the same time?  Certainly not!

Neither can *the* "unit of currency" be both "dollar" and "cent" all at

the same time.
