Neil Herron is to close his fish stall so he can devote more time to the
pounds and ounces 'cause'.
So the battle against mountainous common sense continues, alas!!
He is joined in his cause by four other traders, two in Cornwall and two in
London.
He has told the Sunderland Echo that the Metric Martyr's fighting fund now
stands at �200,000, with �5000 already spent. Funny!! I could have sworn
he already told someone else they had raised �400,000!! It's amazing how
these amounts seem to vary, isn't it??
He and his supporters intend to raise �1,000,000 in defence of all five
traders. But of course; why waste time raising �100,000 for cancer
sufferer's or victims of AIDS when you can invest your money in this far
more worthy cause??
So, as I said, the madness continues. What our European cousins make of all
this heaven only knows!!
Probably laughing themselves silly of shaking their heads in disbelief, I
shouldn't wonder!!
Mr Herron also plans to run for Mayor of Sunderland. God help us if he
won!!
That would be the day that Sunderland would be undoubtedly rechristened
Noddyland!!!
