I find it interesting and peculiar that in Pat's original message and in
the section quoted by Bill Potts, I saw 2 and 3 in superscript. But in
your quote, Joe, it comes out as "straight quotes", not superscripted
numbers nor as curly quotes.
Once your Macintosh reads it successfully, it might be doing something
to convert them. Pat and Bill sent messages encoded in ISO-8859-1 and
yours is encoded in us-ascii.
