American (English) Statute measures run thusly:
1 League = 3 miles
1 Mile = 8 Furlongs
1 Furlong = 40 Rods
1 Rod = 5.5 Yards
1 Yard = 3 Feet
1 Foot = 12 Inches
1 Inch = 2.54 Centimeters (by law)
so who says the USofA ain't on the Metric System?
