HR 4414 and HR 66 are identical bills "to amend the Metric Conversion Act of 1975 to require Federal agencies to impose certain requirements on recipients of awards for scientific and engineering research." Vernon Ehlers introduced RH 4414 in the 106th Congress on 2000 May 10. He introduced HR 66 in the 107th Congress on 2001 Jan 3. HR 66 is still (as of today) under consideration by the House Committee on Environment, Technology, and Standards as reported by my Congressman Tim Johnson in his letter of 2001 July 6 (excerpts already posted here).
