You may remember some time ago I e-mailed a German company magazine about their use of non-metric units. Today I got a reply from the Editor and author of one of the pieces: >Dear Sir, > >I can understand that you being a member of the UK Metrication Assiciation >and the US Metric Assoication fight for the usage of metric units. But >actually they are not in use in the US. And when we started the >international edition of agenda we decided to use american english so that >explains why we use their units and expressions like "sq.m" instead of m2 >which is more popular in the US. > >But we will take your letter your letter as a good opportunity to discuss >changing to english english which indeed makes more sense because with >Thames Water we have more english readers now than american. > >Yours faithfullly >Christoph Peck >Agenda Editor -- UK Metrication Association: http://www.metric.org.uk/
