Interesting.  I just skimmed this article, but noticed discussion of
driving piles:  "the first application of the 1700 Kj hammer could send it
another 10 m into the mud."

Is that supposed to be kJ?  Surely a hammer that delivers only 1700 kJ a
pop wouldn't be very useful.
