Summer ends Sept 1 for meteorologists and I use the meteorological seasons. But summer is giving a last demonstration with maritime tropical air. Everywhere in Europe temperatures have been in the thirties and high humidities up to 100% for days. As Weatheroffice sometimes says: hot, hazy and humid. Yesterday the temperature was between 31 and 33 degrees in the Netherlands. Only a few coastal stations did not reach 30 degrees. Last night 22 degrees as a minimum. I hate such weather, but the forces of liberation are on their way; a cold front will bring relief later today, but before that happens, still 32 degrees.
