Although I'm a regular Amazon customer, it hasn't happened to me.

I assume you've called the credit card company. You are not liable for
fraudulent charges.

American Express is excellent in that respect. I've had several disputed
(but not overtly fraudulent) charges reversed in the past few years. I also
had nearly $1000 in fraudulent charges reversed on my Corporate Optima card.

Sorry to pose this question to the entire forum, but I need
more than one person's answer. I just received an e-mail
from Amazon.com, thanking me for contributing to the
American Red Cross through the Amazon Honor System,
and that my credit card has been charged $100.

Here's the kick. I never went to Amazon to make a
donation through them. In fact, I've already donated
a different amount directly to the Canadian Red Cross
directed to the effort in New York.

It appears that Amazon has charged my card without
even asking me. On top of that, they give a web address
where you can go to request that your money be refunded.
But when you go there it says that they're closed.

Did this happen to anybody else?
