A relative of mine works for a firm that among other things is designing entertainment systems for Airbus airliners. I asked him if Airbus designed in metric, and he replied:
Airbus gives specifications in metric, however our customer (we are a
consultancy) wants everything in english units. I show both dimensions
on the drawings. I constantly have to work in both systems, as
electrical connectors and many other purchased components are a mix of
units. It's really a pain doing the tolerancing!
