And the bit about the centimeter as being the unit of length in the cgs system (as
opposed to the meter being the unit of length in SI, which clearly makes so much more
sense since it is syntactically a prefixless term) highlights again the anomalous
nature of using the term "kilogram" as the unit of mass.
I guess I'm still puzzled why the CGPM (is that the right organization to reference?)
doesn't see that sufficiently clearly to seriously entertain adopting a prefixless
term for the SI unit of mass.
