In Ireland, the Punt will cease to be legal tender after 2002-02-09, a mere
six weeks after the introduction of the euro. After that, only euros will
be accepted in retail outlets, although the banks will continue to change old
currency for new for a time after that. The Irish Central Bank will change
punts into euros indefinitely (http://www.euro.ie).
