One of the benefits of converting to metric is the elimination of the confusing terms like billlion and trillion, etc. and their contradictory meanings. (PS There is no disparity between American and European meanings for million.) By using metric prefixes, most situations requiring the use of billion, etc. can be eliminated.Rather than argue over how to use the words like trillion and septillion, or where they came from, we should use them as examples of ways in which metric can be advantageous.
