Let me echo Joe's sentiments.

I have set my Outlook 2000 rules to direct messages with attachments to a
special subfolder of my Inbox folder. However, I find it especially annoying
to get messages that were forwarded or replied to as attachments, rather
than being embedded in the forwarding or reply message.

Attaching, rather than embedding, forwarded messages or messages to which
one is replying is an option one can turn on or off in just about all email
programs. It is good netiquette to turn the option off.

As an aside, I occasionally receive (unwillingly) those jokes that make the
rounds of the Internet. Often, they arrive as attachments of attachments of
attachments of attachments, ad nauseam. Unfortunately, Outlook 2000 doesn't
have a way of recognizing nested attachments (for the purpose of applying a
rule); otherwise I'd have them deleted on arrival.
