To all of you speedometer people:

Ever since I started driving airplanes 50 years ago, ETA
(estimated time of arrival) and time to way points have been
calculated in minutes. Never in seconds, never in decimal
hours. Minutes are easy to add to clock time to get clock
arrival time.

So the speedometer scale I need is scaled in kilometres per minute.
    0.0 0.5 1.0 1.5 2.0 2.5 3.0
      1____1____!____1____1____1____1
                    km/min
with 0.1 marks included.

I made this up 20 years ago.
It is easy to use. As I move along at 1 km/min where the sign says
"Denver 20 km", it is easy to figure 20 min to get there.
Or "Fort Morgan 100 km" at 2 km/min; it will be 50 min to get
there.

I hope you can go along with this.
                        Robert Bushnell
