Dear Marcus, Madan, and All,
What would the implications be of the widespread acceptance of the Swatch
unit of time, the beat.
In particular what impact could it have on navigation especially if the GPS
became more widely used, and preferred SI units, without its ifp software
filters?
It seems that Swatch have in some senses already pre-empted Marcus's
suggestion of a circle divided into a thousand units, even though Swatch
chose time where Marcus chose distance.
