I am not surprised that the US Mint is not very successful in getting
dollar coins into circulation. Charging $35.50 for $25.00 worth of coins
is hardly good salesmanship. I notice tha Kilopascal has attached another
3 irrelevant documents. He reported in USMA 16943:
