I could not understand why the Pacific Islands that
make up French Polynesia were not mentioned as the first to go to the
Euro. Why R�union was the first mentioned. Well, from the URL above,
French Polynesia is on this side of the International date line. So, they
were the last to use the Euro.
Interesting, is the South American territory of
French Guiana (French Overseas Department) is also using the Euro. This is
the only territory on the American Continent that is using the
Euro.
Between the French and Dutch territories using the
Euro, the Euro literally circles the globe.
