But to my knowledge, Central America is not a continent, it's a geographic reference.
Central America is part of the continent of North America, as are the
Carribean Islands.

Carleton and all,

Since I could not drive to St. Pierre and Miquilon I will defer to you and
accept that my road atlas is probably wrong.

But  I have always thought that the countries called central America are
part of NOrth America as well as the Caribbean islands.

I was thinking continents -- North America, Central America, South America; Central America being the places south of Mexico and north of Colombia.  I'm not sure where people place the Caribbean countries (nor Greenland for that matter).

The map I looked at to determine St-Pierre et Miquelon's time zone was a CAA/AAA map of the Atlantic provinces.
