Actually there is only one continent America, it has a northern, central, and
southern part. It surprises me to see how the North Americans (i.e. US
nationals and Canadians) insist to count 7 continents and not 5 as the rest
of the world does. Just because man has cut a canal in Panama, doesn't mean
geography can be changed.
NAFTA has nothing to do with considering Mexico as North or Central America.
Most people in the world view North America as English speaking America, and
South as Spanish & Portuguese speaking America. In Spain we designate it that
way, in my experience in dealing with people from Mejico is that they don't
mind being called South American, they don't consider or would ever like for
you to call them Central American.
