Why not take it to your bank and see if they will change it for Euros.  I was at the bank this morning and the teller is going to call her head office on Monday to see if they can get Euros.  Apparently people have been asking for them.  Others I talked to have also asked the tellers at the bank they go to if they can get Euros.

The trick is, will they trade old European currencies for Euros at the fixed rate, or will they want to convert the old currency to dollars, then to Euros?  This way they get to charge a conversion fee.

To Han and those in Eurozone

Please retain some of your old coins/bills.  Its a
rich history and tradition.  If your friends come from
a foreign country,  you can show them and it will be
nice to see it.

I have an old 100 franc note, left over from a long-ago trip.  I think I'll find a small frame for it.
