John,

Go instead to http://www.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/ and then click on
"Forums" in what might appear to be the masthead of the page. (Look for
black letters on a white-backround line; it's just below the "G" in
"MAGAZINE" on my browser.)

At that point you may pick the article you wish to comment on (or read
the comments on), in this case, "The New Europe". Click on the article
title or the word "enter" and a pop-up screen will appear with a
disclaimer. Click on "Enter Forum" on that screen and you are in.

Fasten your seat belt first, though. I've seen a few forum comment
series and this one seems to have brought out the loonies and the
ranters. Fortunately, most of those reveal the depth of their
intellectual processing skills by demonstrating their abilities in
persuasive rhetoric and grammatical soundness. Perhaps this is
fortunate; one might draw from this page that intelligent people are
prometric and idiots are against it.

If you select "Contact Us" instead of "Forums", you can see that it is
possible to also send a letter to the Editor in Chief at
   [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I doubt that the Editor reads the Forum pages very often but there is a
chance that he (yes he's male) will read or at least be briefed on
emails to this less obvious address. I recommend the double-whammy
approach (forum + letter) which is what I used.

Han's comment stands out proudly and clearly. Thanks for the support
Han!
