I went to Maporama in order to see whether the change to the euro had restored
their self-respect. I was wrong, they are still the same bootlickers. The Dutch
language route from Amsterdam to Paris made me retch instantly. They have a
feedback page on their site now and I posted this:
Please, change the defaults in Anglo-Saxon measuring units on all non-English
pages to the metric system. How long wil Maporama continue to support the
enemies of the metric system by pretending that mainland Europe is ready and
willing to replace it with Anglo-Saxon units? On the roads of continental
Europe British and American units are NOT USED and they will NEVER be adopted
here. And last, but not least, the global standard for measuring units is not
Anglo-Saxon, but the Systeme International des Unites - SI- the modern metric
system. Please, make these changes. Please stop supporting the British Weights
and Measures Association, the United Kingdom Independence Party and the US anti-
metric organizations Freedom2Measure and Americans for Customary Weights and
Measures.
