Jetzt werden Festplatten gemessen in der SI Bedeuting von giga, w�hrend jeder denkt dass es hier um die bin�re Bedeuting geht. Eine Festplatte van 80 GB oder 80 GiB schafft jetzt Deutlichkeit. Und noch etwas. Da das SI in Europa und in den meisten anderen Staaten der Welt verwendet wird, sollten wir endlich mit der Amerikanerei mit Masseinheiten Schluss machen. Amerikanischen Einheiten sind eine Rest des Mittelalters. Eine Diskette misst 90 mm, und auch f�r Bildschirme usw. zur�ck zum metrischen System! Inches, Feet, usw. sind keine Alternative zum SI!
I am in favour. All objections put in against are just expressions of conservatism. at last the SI prefixes will no longer be abused. At present hard disks are measured with the SI meaning of prefixes, while everybody thinks that these are the binary ones. A hard disk of 80 GB or 80 GiB removes any confusion. And something more. As SI is used in Europe and in most other nations, we should end the Americanism in measuring units at last. These units are a vestige from the Middle ages.
