According to http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/dictT.html

twip
a unit of distance used in computer graphics for high-resolution control of
the elements of an image. One twip is equal to 1/1440 inch, about 17.639
micrometers, or 0.070 556 kyu. "Twip" is an acronym for "twentieth of a
point," which is accurate if the point [2] is interpreted as being exactly
1/72 inch.

Franois Cardelli in "Scientific Unit Conversion", Springer, 1999, reported
        point (de Paris) = 0.188 mm
        point (Didot = 0.376 mm
        point (US printer's) = 0,351 mm
        point (Imprimerie Nationale) = 0.399 mm

        pica = 4.218 mm

I have no idea of what a twip in. Please give context.
