2002-02-08 I think the "behind the scenes" use of metric means the data they receive off the satellites and other sources are in metric. So, they have to convert it to FFU before they broadcast it on the air. This has to be time consuming, costly and prone to error. One would think they would jump at the chance to push to drop FFU, so they can eliminate the "need" to convert data already in SI to FFU.
