Subject: "Is Safe Mail Worth the Price" article Date: Sun, 3 Mar 2002 11:15:09 -0500 From: James Frysinger <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Dear Dr. Florig, I read your interesting and timely article, "Is Safe Mail Worth the Price", in the February 22 issue of Science and I enjoyed its broad view. I also enjoyed seeing the newer SI unit, the gray, being used instead of its predecessor. With all due respect, I would like to bring a point to your attention. The article used "kiloGray" in the text and in the caption to the figure. This should have been "kilogray" since SI unit names do not start with uppercase letters. Matching the appropriate use of symbols in the other quantities, the caption should have used "56 kGy" instead of "56 kiloGray". Neither of these, of course, detracted from your broad view in this timely article. I especially liked your caution to temper the rush to embrace scientific and technological capabilities with thoughts about public policy and society's will. Thank you! James R.
