These are mostly private companies. If they believe that colloquial units will help them sell more products, then they certainly SHOULD use colloquial units. To do otherwise would be a violation of their fiduciary responsibilities to their stockholders. If we believe otherwise, then our task is to show them the error in their thinking. With very rare exceptions, as soon as any company sees more profit in metric units, they will start to use them. Very, very few companies will eschew metrication even after they see the profit in it.
