That's because he's too busy further enriching the Bush Dynasty's already
obscenely rich friends (and governing in secret).

Right now, he's actively facing 2002 (mid-term elections) and 2004 (next
presidential election). (His applying tariffs to steel imports and his
marching in the Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade were both part of his 2004
campaign strategy.) I don't think he gives a damn about 2010, as he'll have
been out of office for at least a year, even if he is re-elected in 2004.

We can only hope that U.S. companies will get the message and do something
independently of the government. The only positive statements the current
administration has made with respect to any kind of regulation is as a
result of the Enron/Andersen scandal -- and that regulation (which will have
to come from Congress) relates only to financial matters.

Any hope for government support for metrication lies solely in Congress. As,
unlike the President, they don't have term limits, many of them will still
be in office in 2010. As I've implied above, we can expect nothing at all
from the administration.

Gay Britain? Is that a typo for Great Britain? If not, why would you say
that?
