My understanding of this is, that any move by ATF to force beer to carry SI
would also force wine and spirits to carry ifp.  For that reason it's
considered best to let this go for the time being.

But it is really annoying. I enjoy Guinness Stout, which is invariably
labeled "14.9 Fl Oz" with no SI whatsoever. It isn't even a number you can
easily triple and add zero, to convert to ml!

Beer is the one food product that doesn't have to have metric on it, so
I guess they figure they'll save the ink.  Stupid, I know.
