2002-03-25 Jim is right. In fact, the watt is derived from the joule and the second (joules per second) and not the other way around.
If someone has chosen to use watt seconds it is because they are unfamiliar with the joule and most likely feel if they don't understand, no one else does either. Plus, some people may even have a hard time pronouncing the word. They may think it is pronounced like jowels instead of jewels and that might sound to weird to them. Ignorance is not bliss.
