Here is where USMA'ers can make a difference.  Contact ABC and urge them to stick to the facts (in this case quotations).  Or, enquire as to their  'style book'  on such issues.  However, there is no point in revealing hostility or frustration:  NONE.

I had the ABC news onto tonight with Peter Jennings.  While covering the story of the ex-student who entered a school in Erfurt and shot 18 teachers, a female student was interviewed.  The girl said at one point (in German) that the attacker was 1 m in front of her.  The dub over changed the 1 m to 3 feet.
 
I thought it was the policy of reporting not to change what people actually say.  The dubber did a disservice as she gave the impression the girl actually used feet, when she didn't.
