In USMA 19923 Tony Bennett raised the metric discussion to the spiritual
level when he essentially argued that the imperial system was bassed on
Christian values, while the metric system had atheist roots. He was
answered at length by Ma Be in USMA 19946. I support Ma Be's arguments,
and I want to add a few points.

Moses brought the Ten Commandments down from Mount Sinai.

Devout Jews give a tithe (10%) of their income to charity, and many
Christians also do.

Every 50 years is a jubilee year in which devout Jews were supposed to
forgive all their debtors. I consider 50 to be a metric number which you
will not find in the imperial system.
