An article appeared in today's paper about one survivors
accout of his experience on the Bataan Death March in 1942.
The caption of the picture reads:
Bataan Death march survivor Dick Francies returned to the
Philippines earlier this month to revisit the site of the march. He is
shown next to a refurbished Death March Kilometer Marker dedicated in his honor
and all others who served in the campaign.
The Kilometer Marker is mentioned again in the article
witht he same text as the caption.
I guess it is good that the markers along the March route
show kilometres and not miles.
