Lacking any context, your example may be one where both units should be
specified -- just as my own guideline suggests.
If you mean to imply that anyone who does not blindly follow any document
published by NIST is not a metric supporter, then you are correct -- I am
not a metric supporter by that definition.
Of course, that is a pretty mindless definition of what constitutes a
metric supporter.
