Adrian: I figured that you know who Milton Friedman is; my note on that was for Wizard.
The only real point I wanted to make in my post was that if Friedman did not say anything about metric, let's not make assumptions about what he may think about it. Of course, I fully understand that there is lots of room for debate over Friedman's opinion of the EU and the euro. I guess I think a bit like John Kilopascal seems to on this, at least in one regard: in five or ten years we will know whether the pro-EU or anti-EU prognosticators are correct. I'm happy to let history determine whether Friedman is superb in his understanding of this issue, or if he is a dunce. Jim Elwell
