At work, we are using XML to develop courses for students to take over the internet. XML allows us to standardize many things about the courses and greatly speeds up updates to JavaScript and the course navigation. I have an example I showed to my boss that would allow us to standardize measured quantities in our webpages. It could allow us to enforce metrication, or give the student the option to view all quantities in SI.
I have only tested this with Windows, using Internet Explorer. I don't know what else it will work with, but that is what I use and design for. To see the example, go to: http://cid072.lib.byu.edu/measurement/measurement%20demo.htm To get the files that the example uses, go to: http://cid072.lib.byu.edu/measurement/ Carl
