Hi John and friends:
True, a lot many wish an easier way of life and intend to *touch the
delete* button from USMA listing. But, is that the ANSWER!
Most agree that Gregorian calendar needs correction! Where are the THINK
TANKS, if not USMA members. A lot of things can be overnight as you have
rightly mentioned. The problem of failure shall arise *IF WE RESORT TO
CHANGING NAMES* of units and quantities. But, a reference to known
'expressions' like the HOUR-MINUTE-SENOND or the DEGREE; using 'decimal
and/or metric'-- to be dropped later, how on Earth it is going to COST *the
billions*.
Just imagine your wall clock has additional 100 divisions, along with the
age old 60 (exactly divisible by Ten (10) numbers,
2,3,4,5,6,10,12,15,20 and 30). And, so is the 24-Hours and 15-degree
Hour-angle : again 24 being divisible by 2,3,4,6,8,12; as many as Six(6)
numbers to help us in *astronomy and mathematics* without ever bothering
resistance from the HUMAN mind. No changes in trigonometric functions! To me
this is as, if NOTHING is changing! The 7-day religious 'sabbath' is kept
undistracted! Well,....no more I shoud advocate!
And, to know time without changing your *watches or clocks* JUST read the
minutes on your watch/clock and multiply by five and divide by three
to have the DECIMAL MINUTES after the 'existing hour'intact!
