Yes, but aside from this simplicity one must mention that it would just be a matter of
choosing an average diameter that would yield exactly that value. I don't know if the
actual value is technically tied to the official "sea level" on our planet (what I
mean is we all know that this value, 40 Mm, is not exact). Perhaps someone here could
clarify this to us. If this is not the case what would stop us from *defining* that
specific diameter so that this issue can be definitively settled?

There is actually nothing complicated about it (arc-angle). As I mentioned above all
we need is to draft our planet with a grid that would reflect an *exact* meter and all
would fall in line. If that meant that isotonic lines be placed some 560 m below sea
level, so be it... Comments, anyone?...

Yes, a change to the size of the meter would be extremely traumatic not only in
practical terms but also in theory as an uncontable number of units would also have to
change. It would certainly be chaos!

As for your statement above concerning 24 h I'm sorry, but you lost me here, Madan.
In any case, we should not mix things here, it's already bad enough that the computer
industry came with their "binary" "metric" prefixes to confound people... So, let's
leave this issue of non-decimal prefixes alone, shall we? (Please?...)

Actually these two are indissoluble, even though they are distinct in nature. I.e.
there is the decimal base and there is the SI, except that SI is built on the
foundation of the decimal base system.

That's why I refrained from making any comment on that aspect of his post...
