The esperanto language was developed from 1874 on by a young Jewish student, Lejzer Ludwig Zamenhof. In the city of Bialystok where he lived, fights between groups of people speaking different languages occurred frequently. Zamenhof did believe that a language common to all human beings could make people closer. Is that not a good definition for SI? Louis
