Dear Michael,
The ATSC DTV Standard was adopted six years ago and is being implemented successfully, 490 DTV stations in the US are on the air. From your message it didn't seem as though you were looking for facts and information, but I hope you take the time to discover how and why the ATSC came to be. Here is a brief history: http://www.atsc.org/aboutatsc.html  More information, including frequently asked questions can be found at our website.

Subject: ATSC vs. DVB

hi,

I've been recently told that the US and some other states are not going to adopt DVB.

so my questions are:

1. Why don't you adopt DVB? DVB is a already well estd. and proven standard.
2. Why do you impose your (American) will on other contries by adopting ATSC
3. Where is the sense/bebenfit adopting a second, young standard?

you know obviously PAL is superior to NTSC, 230 V AC is superior to 115 V AC, SI (metric system) is superior to US Costomary

Yours,

Michael Ossipov

PS: sorry for writing this but why you do have to go everytime your f****** American way which is most the worst way?
