Just to cause trouble, let me ask a question here: Many on this forum have railed at one time or another about US meddling in the affairs of other countries, sticking its nose where it has no business, etc. I happen to agree that the USA does that (although we might argue over specific instances). Now, as a US citizen, wouldn't I be doing the same thing if I gave support to this woman, regardless of how much I think she is being wronged by the British authorities? What if the US ambassador issued some public statement on her behalf? (Yes, I know, that is not likely.) Wouldn't that still be meddling? Do you support one country meddling in another's affairs when it is in your favor (e.g., pro-metric), and oppose it otherwise (e.g., anti-metric)? Or is it always wrong or always right regardless of the cause? Jim Elwell, CAMS Electrical Engineer Industrial manufacturing manager Salt Lake City, Utah, USA www.qsicorp.com
