Dear KiloPascals, No I was taught by Mr Potts who was the Science Master at Belmont High School in 1972 - 1974. He only taught in metric. I have no idea where he ended up, but I know he did drive a spiffy English car. Belmont is about 160 kms north north east of Sydney.
I have used metric and inches. Once you are used to them you can swap backwards and forwards. Which is not an issue till some one uses the wrong thing in the wrong place because of confusion and a lot of people die. Numbers for non metric reo bars in the USA is a disaster waiting to happen and hopefully the ASTM will fix it with the current ballot.
