I may not think that the way of Jim Ellwell would work for Europe and most
other nations but I vehemently oppose the notion of bringing in things like
metrication or driving on the right side of the road by means of Hitler- and
Stalin types and methods. They are only to be brought in by decent,
parliamentary democratic methods, by parliamentary vote, the minimum demand as
far as I am concerned. Or should we reopen 'holiday resorts'like Dachau,
Buchenwald and Mauthausen for violators of W&M laws? "Gestapo! You are under
arrest. You have used pounds and ounces while shopping! To Mauthausen, you
scoundrel!" NO WAY. Private citizens should be left alone at all times, but
traders who violate should be fined for misdemeanour, not crime, accrding to
decent systems of justice. I REJECT ALL TOTALITARIAN REGIMES AND METHODS!
