I have used the brochure a few times as reference. I have also tried to refer others to it. I have the following comments: 1. Make it available as html not just pdf. This would make it easier and quicker to refer others to it. It would also allow simpler cut and paste for quotation. 2. Rewrite the text as [current rule] then [because]. If necessary, follow this with [background/history etc]. The current texts reads like a history lesson or set of committee minutes. This is frustrating because as a current user, I usually care most about the current rule. The history dominates the text (it is the first thing in the introduction) and makes it more difficult for me to extract the 'Do this' rule and 'because' justification. Tell me what (or how) before why. 3. The phrase 'Non-SI units accepted for use with the International System' should really end with 'SI' not 'International System'. If you look at section 4.4. on page 131 you will see that the prefix term 'non-SI' has been dropped and the casual reader may assume that the 'units accepted for use' are SI. There is also casual ambiguity in expressions in other parts of the text. -- Terry Simpson Human Factors Consultant [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.connected-systems.com Phone: +44 7850 511794
