I live 50 km west of DC and plan to attend the conference as well. Additional comments to those below are that no one seems to have had a problem with liquor being labeled in ml only.

Subject: [USMA:22679] Letter from the USMA
2002-10-13
The other day I received a form letter from Lorelle Young of the USMA announcing the public forum in November by NIST on metric only labelling.
I think since many of us can not attend, and Jim McCracken is one of the forum Co-ordinators who frequents this list, we can use this list and the time left to discuss and present our views and reasons why we want to see the FPLA amended to allow metric only labelling. Then Jim can present them in our names to the forum.
I would like to start of by saying that dual units add a lot of confusing clutter to the package and packages containing only a single unit in metric would be sufficient to describe its contents.
Metric only will be more in the spirit of globalism by having one standard for the whole world.
Any more ideas?
