>From the USMA: USMA's Consumer Products List will be included in the package of handouts at the Nov 7 NIST Forum on Labeling. (See http://lamar.colostate.edu/~hillger/Metric_LabelingForum-flyer.pdf for the flier from NIST). USMA President Lorelle Young will also reference the List in her remarks at Forum. Thanks to many of you who have contributed metric product information, the list has grown to a formidable length. The List may be viewed on the USMA website at http://lamar.colostate.edu/~hillger/products.htm.
You can help to further U.S. metrication by: (1) Writing a letter or sending an email to the address on the Forum flier and expressing your support of the proposed amendment described on the Forum flier. (2) Writing to companies that are packaging their products in round metric-unit sizes. Companies are very sensitive to the preferences of their consumers. Inform them that you like their products and let them know that labeling with metric units enables you to compare price/value more easily. Use your own words because companies put more stock in the opinions of individuals than in correspondence that appears to be part of a letter-writing campaign. Posted by: Don Hillger USMA Webmaster
