A UK manual is unlikely to mention cups at all. I have seen cups on UK measuring equipment in the past but I don't believe anyone uses them. UK recipes give weight measures for non-liquids, unlike North American recipes which often use volume. Old UK recipes use ounces (weight), later ones use grams. So there is never a reason for a British cook to convert from volume to mass. Take a look at UK recipes online and see for yourself. This is a difference that many people remark on. Salter is a British company. Their UK website shows the 3007 aquatronic. You could email the UK office and ask. You might also asking them if they would consider making user manuals available for download.
