I found the following page concerning the metrication plan for the
Hanford Site (DOE). It looks like it might contain some interesting
information but I have only glanced at it so far. Your help is invited
in gleaning what we can here.

One thing that interests me is the need for our Nuclear Regulatory
Commission to finish metricating, so that we are consistent with the
IAEA, inter alia. I noted the following
1.10 CFR 835 requires use of
non-SI units of curie, rad, and
      rem in radiation protection
      records. All other measures
      (e.g., distance, area, volume,
weight) will be in SI units.
        2.Convert to metric units
      whenever required by
      regulation and in all other
      cases where conversion would
      not compromise safety.

   (scroll down to Group 5)
which does not seem to show significant improvement in our national
adoption of SI units relating to radiation. Of course, this is a 1994
document; yet, it is still posted so it may in fact be current.
